so Jerry Seinfeld...doing McDonald's ads?
sure, tied into Bee Movie, but didn't his wife just release some sort of cookbook to help parents help their kids eat better?

doesn't he have enough money? does he really need to sell out to Mickey D's?

3. sure he did
he was the producer, writer and star, he signed off on any ads, especially ones he would be doing the voiceover for.

2. BTW_ this movie started over lunch with Spielberg
Seinfeld made a joke about making a movie called a "B Movie" and Spielberg pretty much greenlighted it on the spot. This guy didn't get rich ignoring the chance to be a part of things like Jerry's first real project since the show ended.

That being said, I am almost positive that this was going to be released a while ago like 6 months or so but got pulled back and reworked-probably had bad focus group results.

Yeah McD's and Seinfeld-what COULD go wrong?? but your point about his wife's book is a good one.

5. I don't think it is about money. It's a pride issue with his movie.
It's probably more important to his self image that Bee Movie do well on DVD or whatever than it is not to sell out to McDonald's.

7. Hmmm...Does Seinfeld have the right to do what he wants?
Edited on Sun Nov-25-07 07:19 PM by Bluzmann57
I am just wondering. If he wants to make commercials for McDonalds then I guess he can. Conversly, if you don't want to eat there, then stay away.

8. i refer to the hypocrisy
of simultaneously flacking for McDonald's and his wife's "how to get your kids to eat healthy" cookbook.

9. If people eat enough McDonald's food, they might make themselves
feel sick enough to resolve to stay away from it forever. Then they'll need the cookbook. Is that called a "two-pronged" strategy?

10. I don't see anything wrong with an occasional visit to McDonalds
It's regular eating there aside from some of the salads that is problematic.

13. Every once in a while, I get a Mickey D's Fries Craving
Not very often, but when it happens, there is just nothing else that will do. And, on occasion, I'll sin boldly and go for a sausage biscuit. 29 grams of fat never tasted so good.

12. Because when it comes to money, one does not need to believe what they sell.
They just want you to buy into it.

Which is why I probably won't get anywhere in the writing biz.
