Did anyone watch Extreme Makeover Home Edition tonight?
I started watching late and am confused about what happened to the family. They keep talking about domestic violence, and I know both parents (and someone named Tim?) are dead. What happened?

Thanks!!

The woman's sister was married with 4 kids. Her husband was killed in a car wreck. Later she started dating and hooked up with a whacko, who started stalking her after they broke up. Tim was a guy she started dating later, who agreed to move in with her to help protect her from the whacko. She had a restraining order, and installed a new alarm system. Whacko still managed to break in in the middle of the night and shot the sister and Tim. I saw this story on Dateline (I think.) Before she started dating Tim, whacko broke into her house and threatened her with a couple of butcher knives. She then did everything she could, including the restraining order and new alarm system but she still got killed. If I remember right, they think whacko got in through an unlocked patio door.

In 1968 I had a lawyer tell me a restraining order was only as good as the paper it's written on. Some things never change.

Very sad story.
