Is going home for the holidays depressing for you?

In a way it is to me. A few family members are frail and sickly, and it's depressing seeing them in that condition knowing that they were once young(er) and vivacious. Then I always start to think back over 'the good ole' days when I was a kid and we all gathered together for the holidays. Now I have my own family and I all the sudden feel old, even tho I'm in my early 30's. Don't get me wrong, I'm appreciative of my life and family, it's just like the old saying goe...."you can never go back"

Meaning that going back to your old stomping grounds will never be like you remembered. I guess that's the depressing part.

I'm single and I enjoy the company of my family over the holidays. What's depressing for me is sitting here without the company of others.
