5. This has made me cry all day.
My family has 4 generations of Redskins fans, and we follow them, win or lose. I have an old picture of me with Dave Butz and Mark Moseley when I was 6 years old. I don't know if I really have the "right" to be tearful over this, but when I see Coach Gibbs and his teammates speak over this, my eyes well up.

This was a guy who had his little troubles, but really changed himself for the sake of his child and fiancee. He really redeemed himself, and it really seems like he died trying to protect them.

My heart goes out to his family, teammates, and coaches.

8. Did you see Gregg Williams last night?
He was really fighting back tears, and that did surprise me. He has always struck me as a bit of a hard ass.

12. Yes, he broke up at the end.
He struck me as a hard ass on the field, but you can tell he loves his players. He was sad over having to cut Joe Sal'avea as well.

I have seen Portis in some interviews, and you can just see in his face how down he is. I feel so bad for him.

7. It's incredibly sad.
It also sounds like they might not be able to ever catch the scumbag that did it.

Prayers for his family.

11. It's such a damn tragedy.
He was a father with a little baby.

He had his whole life ahead of him and he
was cut down like---- nothing.

I hope they catch whoever did this.

;(

13. As a football fan and human being, I grieve
He was a damn good free safety, replaced Champ Bailey
quite well. Such a horrible loss to his family and his
team.

16. We wonder about these things
What are the odds of a 9mm bullet, probably fired blind, hitting
the femoral artery? Not likely, IMHO. I'd ask my Deity if I had one.
