A major diffence between Liberals and Conservatives....

My good friend-who also posts here- will read a good book, and then lend it to me. Even though she knows it might be years before she sees it again. An acquaintance of my husband's (I say acquaintance because I don't want to claim him by friendship) just SOLD him a good book he read for $5.00. WTF? It's a paperback even. The conservative way to get ahead in the world.

1. It's that sharing thing.

Liberals like to share. For us, enjoyment doubles when we can share something that gives us pleasure. Repukes are just not into it. For them, sharing diminishes their pleasure in what they have. It's all about More For Me and sharing makes you a loser.

3. ummm...

actually its not good to generalize...I have a good conservative friend who likes to share good books across the political spectrum...in fact he has been more friendly than some of my liberal friends who don't read at all

4. Amen. I gave a guy a book once at a company christmas thing..

and he was really touched. He quoted someone (Jefferson? Ben Franklin) that said someone who gives me a book is a friend for life.

Kinda hokey. Kinda cool.

I'd rather have a friend for life then $5.

type at work a dime every time he borrows my "today's paper" for his restroom break.

Teach him a lesson in conservatism.

Wish I could remember where I read it, but I remember a guy saying he started out as a kid, buying the comics and letting other kids in the neighborhood read an issue for a dime a copy.

...when I make a personalized CD comp on the computer, sometimes I run off several additional copies as gifts to friends who I think will enjoy them, too. Good music, like good books, ought to be shared with your favorite people!
