There was a drug raid last night.. IN MY HOUSE
Yesterday I was looking for a pen, and ran across two packets of catnip in a kitchen drawer.. I laid it on the counter so I could round up the refillable "mouses" and this morning when I woke up.. THE CATNIP HAS BEEN STOLEN..

The usual suspects have been questioned, but no one has confessed..

Mommie Cat.. arrived here, young, hungry and knocked up..after a rough life on the streets..her "drug habits" were unknown to us

...............................................................
Uncle Willie...very evil..has literally bitten and clawed and punctured the hands that fed him.. He is a dangerous character.. and sneaky

His handiwork:

.................................................................

Sammy..Aka The Bubby

even as a baby he had an attraction for "the bottle"

Now an oversized OAF, I would put nothing beyond him.. except his limited ability to hoist his 28 lb frame on top of the counter.. his MO, is more like hiding behind things and leaping out as others pass by..

..............................................................

Sara... a sneaky attack artist.. known to have an attraction to human earlobes..not for biting, but for their apparent resemblance to the milk delivery system she had as an orphaned newborn

Then

Now

.....................................

Sweetie Pie..aka Sweets.. a timid soul, and rarely the one to instigate any trouble..

......................................

Chinny-chin was sequestered with her companion and could not have been a part of the crime..(She and her companion do not "play well with others", so they have their own private quarters, and could not have been involved)

Her companion, Queen of the Universe, Amber..

Current investigation is leaning toward THIS culprit.

Starvin' Marvin ..He is devious, he is sneaky, he is a "jumper", and he does love the catnip.. More investigation will be forthcoming...

3. I think one of the culprits is telekenetic and willed the catnip
to them. The catnip went kicking and screaming but to no avail.

And how do you know it isn't being used for medicinal, rather than recreational, purposes? :spray:

Recommended. Funniest post of the morning. Thank you!

6. ALL of them are pretty suspicious characters..
Every so often, one will hear a noise and we have a stampede of cats skittering all over the place, until one of them apparently gives the "all clear" signal, and then they all go back to what they were doing..usually sleeping:)

9. You are a bad, bad influence!
Because you make me want LOTS more cats. Two are not enough!

Well, in a studio apartment, two are enough for now, but.....I want more kitties!!

10. We have too many, but who would we evict?
We take in the dregs of cat-dom, and fall in love with them..

The younger ones were all bottle-fed by me and they ARE my babies, and the older ones are special too..all rescues :) and all very spoiled:)

11. It was Sweet Pie!!
You wrote, and I quote,"Sweetie Pie..aka Sweets.. a timid soul, and rarely the one to instigate any trouble.."
The quiet ones are always the most devious!

P.S. A cat with the same name as I have could never cause trouble! (Amber)

12. UPDATE.. one ripped up "baggie" of the weed was discovered under my husband's chair.
the other packet remains missing and presumed..consumed :)

No one has acted any odder than normal, so perhaps the "weed" was less potent after spending years secreted away in a junk drawer:)

13. It losses a lot of potency after about a month. But can still give off a smell.
That is probably what happened. They smelled it but can't get the kick.

14. Waterboard'em, and see if their recollection improves....
What a great menagerie! :hi:

I was just thinking yesterday that only having 2 cats seems kind of lonely....

Good luck with the investigation!

15. My hands would just get ripped up again..no thanks :)
We DO have to wash Sara's face.. she refuses to wash her own face..

They never had a Cat-Mom to teach them stuff, so I guess I didn't get that message across to them..

Mind those cuts, too! You can get REALLY sick REALLY quickly from cat scratches/bites.

I applaud your selfless efforts! :applause: :hi:

19. That happened a year ago on New years Eve
That rascal got out, and we were so scared for him..he does not see well, and was so scared.. We got our hands on him and just let him rip us up, so that he would not get away and end up dead..

then we spent the next week, going to the doctor for daily shots & evaluation.. We still have the scars, but he did not escape :)

and I did a little kitty-cpr on him to get him going..and he's always been timid.. but he's got the face of an angel..

he was one of the "easter-egg hunt" babies.. ( the mom dropped them all over the yard..still in the sacs..she didn;t have a maternal instinct.. I ran around collecting all 5 of them..tore open the sacs, washed the ants off, cut the cords and then bottle fed them all..)

and he does love the kitchen counter top.:grr:

he broke my answering machine from stepping on the buttons..I do love the look on his face when the "lady in the machine" talks to him when he steps on the buttons :)

37. I found the remnants of the second baggie of the weed this morning
behind the bathroom door...where Marvin likes to hang out and waits to ambush the other cats..so I am NOW convinced he was the culprit..

but since it's a first time offense and I did not witness the deed, (unlike when I catch him eating the butter).. he's only getting house arrest (which he already has anyway)..so I guess all's well that ends well..and the catnip caper came to an end with nothing broken and no rampaging theough the house..

29. My money is on Amber
That "My eyes are closed so I must be sleeping" thing looks like an act to me. In real life she's the cat burglar who can slip in an out of those separate quarters unbeknownst to anyone.

Listen closely at their door. I'm certain you'll hear the sound of soft giggles n' kitty snorts and find empty cream bottles stashed in that basket!

She looks just like my Chloe, and most furry transgressions in my place get tracked down to her.

Oh, wait...
