Hey, Evel Kneivel died
today. He was 69. That's pretty young in the grand scheme of things. He'd been ill for awhile, evidently. But one more aspect of the news at the end of November, 2007.

1. I say
put him back into that Rocket car and make another attempt at the Snake River Canyon! I think he would like that.

2. Damn! And I thought he was going to endorse Huckabee...
since Chuck Norris and Ric Flair have already done so. Just seemed logical, y'know...

4. Loads, evidently
HOLLYWOOD, CA (Hollywood Today) 11/30/07 – “They started out watching me bust my ass, and I became part of their lives,” Evel Knievel once said. The reaper finally caught up with the death-defying stuntman, dead at 69 of diabetes and lung problems.

Televised super-stunt jumps are just one of the many things that people will remember about stuntman Evil Knievel, who died on Friday.

The daredevil had been plagued by many health problems, including diabetes and pulmonary fibrosis – an incurable disease that causes damage to the lungs. He also underwent a kidney transplant following a battle with Hepatitis C, which nearly killed him in 1999.

Granddaughter Krysten Knievel confirmed the loss of the man known for jumping over lines of parked buses, and, more importantly, Idaho’s Snake River Canyon.
