Who still writes letters by hand and sends via snail mail?
I love to handwrite letters, and for birthdays and stuff, always handwrite a card (unless, of course, I fail to remember the birthday happens). I rarely buy birthday or sympathy cards any more, unless I happen to see a truly hilarious birthday card that meets the needs of the person to whom I'm sending.

but mostly, even friends I stay in touch over email with, I still handwrite letters. I use a fountain pen, with ink from a bottle, and either really nice handmade Amalfi paper for special people or special occasions, or that wonderful Fabriano cards and folded cards for everything else.

Mmmmmmm, I just love the act of writing, addressing the envelope, finding just the right stamp, and sealing it all up.

And I love receiving handwritten notes.

Anyone else? How few of us are there left who still like to write letters? And do you keep a log of letters received and sent?

2. Only if I'm sending a thank-you note.
For some reason, thank-you notes have more impact/meaning if they're handwritten. Otherwise, I do everything electronically. Bills, letters, hatemail, etc.

(OK, maybe my hatemail is worded more like "dislike-mail", but you get the picture)

3. Everyday, in the AM I write one letter to someone I love.
Nothing takes the place of taking the time to sit down and put pen to paper.

8. Excellent! i don't do it every day,
though I often wish I would. When my partner is away, or when I am away, I write a ltter to her every day. Sometiems I even write a letter to her when we're both at home, and put it on her desk to find during the day...

Winston Churchill and his wife used to exchange letters even within their house, or when staying at others' houses. Sometimes kept the servants pretty busy. I try to emulate good Winston now. :-)

7. What's that mean?
I've never read the Anne Rice books, so the allusion is probably self-evident to anyone who has. Did they write a lot of letters?
