I met Bear Bryant

And no, he was not a racist.

I was with my uncle when he took his daughter to the airport to go see her husband in San Diego. (He was in the navy.)

Bear Bryant was there. He wasn't in good spirits, having just gotten beaten by Notre Dame for the national title.

I was a little boy, about 6 years old, I guess. I said "Aren't you Bear Bryant." And he said "No, my name is Paul." He was intimidating.

His wife Mary Harmon was there too. She was cute.

I got his autograph.

I met George Wallace. He was a racist but also one hell of a campaigner -- looked you straight in the eye and shook hands like he meant it.
Three days after I met him, he was gunned down in Laurel, Maryland.

3. I work with a guy that played for Bear Bryant

he works as an electrician right now I about shit when he told me that. When I was a baby my mom had Art Schleisters disgusting Bill Bennett wannabe ass hold me and take a picture. OSU's biggest discrace is that asshole and my mom wonders why I get mad at her ;)
