Here's an odd question: will it damage a cassette if I scan it?
That is, if I put an actual recorded cassette into a scanner in order to scan its printed surface. Will it harm the recorded material contained within?

Specifically, an HP Photosmart C6280 All-in-One Printer/Scanner/Copier.

1. Probably not,
but the RIAA might come after you for copyright infringement. :P

6. I'm not sure if it's going to be a sharp picture, because a cassette has a ridge on one side,
but the cassette should be ok.
