Poll question: Do women prefer cats, and men prefer dogs?

Just curious, in my experience the cat people I know are all women and the dog people mostly men. In the kitty pic threads it seems like a lot of female posters. So which do you prefer (if either) cats or dogs?
NOTE: I am not asking what pet you actually have, but which you prefer.
For the record, I am a woman and I am a cat person

I'm a woman who likes cats but prefers dogs. I live with a man who loves dogs but turns into mush when confronted with a cat. :shrug:

and live with 5 dogs and 6 cats. On some days I love them all, on others they can get annoying as hell. I'm sure my hubby would agree to this sentiment. Where do we vote?

The petsitter calls it the zoo house. Our two daughters need to stop bring cats they found on the side of the road home. However they are all here and we take good care of them all.

34. No, they don't. They have furry lips, so it's very hard to form a tight seal.

I'm not really into the independent cat thing or the litter box thing.

Besides, I'm so allergic to them I break out in hives if I even touch one. And my throat starts tightening, and my eyes start itching.

I had an ex-bandmate who had a couple of those beasts from hell. I'm one of those people that animals usually love. Those damn things always acted like they wanted my ankles for chew toys. I was often tempted to play a fast reel on their yappy little heads with my beater!

and with the exception of pugs, I prefer big dogs over the smaller breeds. I do admit though that cats and kittens make for better pictures. Cuteoverload.com taught me that. :)
