A SLIGHTLY PATHETIC RANT!!!!111!!!

Wanna hear about my afternoon?

A couple weeks ago, a friend of mine (she's this awesome activist chick) told me she was doing a cover story for Xtra, a local gay and lesbian newspaper.

The issue came out today, so I figured I'd walk a few blocks to the subway station, where they have an Xtra newspaper box. But, when I got there, there were no copies to be found. This keeps happening - the copies of Xtra are continuously disappearing! And I live in kind of a conservative area - it's not like there are that many gay people who live here. Some asshole who finds it "objectionable" obviously keeps removing the newspapers, or something.

So, I walked to the local library, a good 5 or 6 blocks away, in below-freezing temperatures, because it was the next closest place that had copies of Xtra. Plus, I figured I'd head in that direction anyway, since I remebered that Shoppers Drug Mart was nearby, and I saw at another location that they were selling Calgon Bodysprays for $4.99. Normally they're 9 dollars, and I love those things.

So, I got to the library...and I got my copy of Xtra. But... my friend wasn't on the cover. Her story was on the cover, and it was actually a really awesome story. But she wasn't in the cover photo - four of the people interviewed went to the photoshoot, but only two made the cover. What the hell? Would it have killed them to put all four people on ther cover?

I went to Shoppers... and realized that that particular location was selling the Calgon bodysprays at the full price! Again... what the hell? It's a chain, shouldn't they have the same prices at each location?

That was my afternoon of freezing my ass off. Lovely.
