The Superman Question (Not really about comic books)
For those of you who don't know:

In the comic books Jor-El and Lara find out that Krypton, their home world, is doomed and they choose to send their only son, Kal-El to Earth so that he will survive and live.

So...

You find out that there will be a planet wide catastrophe and you can only save 1 person. It doesn't matter who it is but you only have enough time to save that one person.

Who do you choose?

I got asked this question at work and gave myself a headache trying to figure out the answer.

As of the moment I still don't know.

2. Stephen Hawking.
So intelligent life "out there" will know that we humans have brains that transcend our physical limitations.

3. My mom...
I mean, she's my MOM. I'm not married and I don't have kids, so I would have to choose my mother. I feel bad about my best friend, but there ya go. I sterilized myself last year, so there's no question of repopulating the earth. Mom and I would just live out our lives, she'd die, and I'd probably off myself out of boredom and loneliness, thus rightfully giving the planet back to the insects, who really deserve it after all we've done to destroy it.

6. Who to save...
You could save one person. This could also take one cat into consideration since they are our 'kids'...

8. I'm afraid I'd have to follow in the Super dudes' footsteps
and send my 1 year old son.

Why not, I guess. Though a 1 way trip through the universe would be kinda nice for myself, but I'd prolly end up feeling *way* too guilty about not sending my wife or kid...
