7. How do you handle tornado warnings that extend into the early morning?
Do you stay up listening to weather alerts? Do you just go to bed and hope for the best?

I've only ever lived in New York State, so the two tornados that came anywhere near me were total surprises. I found out about both after the fact. I honestly have no idea how you manage in an area with frequent tornadoes. :(

8. Well so far it is just a watch
and this one I will prolly check the radar online and on tv too

if the storms are closing in then I will be glued to radio or tv to hear the latest.

I think my weather radio is somewhere at the house I don't live in.

I worry about not being there for my son a bit too...

thanks

11. Are there usually tornado watches/warnings in January?
Is it unusual where you live or is it common?

I'm in Minnesota and we usually don't get our first tornado watch until April or May.

Either way, stay safe and make sure you're close to a basement.

17. Yep, we got them in SW Missouri
also...good thing, most of the more heinous stuff is either north of us, or east...but we are on the fringes, lots of rain/wind/lightning, but no hail, and no overt strong winds(yet)

22. Thanks, and yes...I'm still watching
the doppler hasn't changed much, but I'm all ears...my bud down in Stillwell called about an hour ago, told me that there was a tornado in Rogers/Bentonville, none of our stations has said anything...

In Stillwell, my bud catches the CBS Affiliate between Fayettevill/Ft. Smith, some Jim Bob guy, and some blond woman with glasses, I think its KFSM-TV?..

19. we got up to 60 and had a tornado warning just southeast of here
some freaky weather for January. Especially when it was 0 just a few days ago. It's sort of eerie.

26. it is odd weather for January to be so widespread and stretching north so far
i mean severe weather for us is not unheard of and in fact usually this time of year there will be occasional bouts of severe weather.

however

the line of storms is unreal

24. I'm not sure KW
I think the front is farther east the farther north you go as it is hitting up in illinois and wisconsin
