Dammit or damnit?
Frankly, I think dammit is much more visually appealing. Damnit always makes me say "damn knit" in my head, and sometimes I end up saying it that way out loud. I suppose damnit is also more correct spelling-wise, but dammit is just better constructed.

goshdarnit.

3. Damnit is correct, but...
...when you're cursing, screw being correct! Go with DAMMIT!

7. Wrong.
It's either the literate "damn it" or the vernacular "dammit!" Two words or one, take your pick.

4. according to dictionary it's dammit
Edited on Wed Aug-06-03 10:43 AM by Rabrrrrrr
not damnit. Which I find should be correct, since I don't think i've ever seen it as damnit in any book or anything else, and I've always spelled it dammit. Dammit.

5. I like dammit
It rolls off the tongue - very smooth and looks better too. Damnit makes you stop and try to say the "n". So - I agree with you.

9. I agree
'Dammit" is more intuitive, darn it. Not even sure that either is a true dictionary-endorsed word, anyway.
