I went to my favorite restaurant. The waiter welcomed me back, and said "Long time no see!" (it had been a couple of weeks...) The food was better than average, and their average beats the snot out of most the restaurants I know of. (There are 3 within a 25 mile radius I'd ever go to...)
When at the table, another family was seated beside me. The wife's daughter was cute and friendly, and while I typically keep to my own business when eating in public, it was just so charming and human for her to wave to me and say "Hi!" that I smiled and waved back too. I felt awkward as I've built up a solitary life (plenty of reasons, but I'm a survivor...) Yet at the same time, the innocence, kindness, purity of spirit... It was a warm fuzzy. Such a lovely family. The innocence of childhood; I hope hers isn't robbed the way so many are.
Drove down to the bookstore. They didn't have the primary subject of interest, but they did have a secondary topic that will allow me to excel. Got a 20% coupon for it as well, which always helps.
Went to the grocer's. Bought what I needed and, apart from the new Simcity release and a lamp, stayed away from needless things. Saw the magazines at the checkout counter. Oddly, all but one had pictures of Britney is some psychotic facial appearance. The one that was Britney-less? "Womans' World". Maybe all the others should be boycotted instead. Some of those pics of her on the cover were high definition snaps; so some pepperoni either got close (ewww) or had a good zoom lens (must be paid a carpload of money...) It also reminded me to call the doctor on Monday as I started breaking out in a profuse sweat...
Then I went to buy some jagermeister. I also found Ouzo. It was tempting to buy as it was made by a local manufacturer, even if the drink itself is of Greek origin. I didn't buy, but I did ask the clerk if they offered free samples, suggesting they'd have a lot more buyers of their products. Sadly, they couldn't do that, but applauded me by saying "He's on the ball!" when I whipped out my ID before they asked. :) Sadly, they didn't have any magazines featuring America's favorite Gen-Y'er, so I couldn't make any sardonic comments. :(
When done buying the booze, I saw it snow out. Dry snow so there wouldn't be slipping and accidents, but I know people can't drive if they discover a single flake of dandruff drops from the head of one of their family members, never mind snow...
