Frankenstein meets the Spacemonster
Z-grade trash from 1965. It was on cable last night and boyo, what a stinker. Laugh out loud nonsense, and so much stock footage that it was nearly unbearable (excepting the unintentional laughs).

There were times where this character's makeup was crumbling so much that it looked like his hair was about to explode outward, lashing everyone on the set.

I spent a good three minutes just laughing at this poor guy, who didn't look very comfortable at all (to his credit):

I had never heard about this film before now, and am shocked that it didn't end up on MST3K!

What are your favorite, side-splitting Z movies?

2. Kick, because you have to love actors who are about to crack up at the whole thing.

3. Watched it. I was....unable to turn the station.....it was hideous
Got to love the accent that wandered all over the globe.

Was it Russian? Yiddish? German? Or just bad Canadian?

6. I expected it to be bad, but yes, it outdid my expectations...
But I'll forever cherish the three minutes of solid laughter at Dr. Nadir...

8. MST3K's versions of both films are easily among their best...
My personal favorite is in "War Of The Colossal Beast," after they've parked the tranquilizer-laced van full of bread and Glenn Manning is snackin' on it, and he pauses for a moment and looks at the rock they're hiding behind and they yell:

OH NO! We smell like BREAD!

11. What! You don't have Creeping Terror?
The original audio track was "lost" so they had to dub in narration. I've heard varying stories about that - the director threw it into Salt Lake, the sound supervisor threw it into the lake... etc.

Monster was a tarp that started with two people under it... you can even see the sneakers... and would get stuck on every rock and branch in the area. Once it ate a bunch of the extras, there were more people under the tarp and it moved much better... although you could still see the occasional sneaker underneath.

Then there is Day of the Lepus. Killer bunnies. With De Forrest Kelly looking at something on the ground and saying "It's dead...(insert name here)".

Actually, if I could find copies of either of these I would be very happy. I heard that MST did do Creeping Terror but not Day of the Lepus.

Check them out if you get a chance. They are both hysterical.

13. I just barely remember Day of the Lepus from when I was a kid.
And I've only seen clips of the "Creeping Terror". I'd love to have that on DVD!

15. Did you notice Lepus was playing on the TV in the background
when Neo is waiting to meet the Oracle and doing the spoon thing - The Matrix? Have to wonder what that was about.

17. No, I think that I missed that. I've seen it in the background in at least one film, though.
