Attn Baltimore/Washington/Northern Va DU members...possible meet up?
Okay enough talking about this. I have had enough locals express interest to me in a DU meetup in this area..So, since I am a kind of take charsge kind of person when it comes to planning things, and I've been interested in a meetup for awhile now, lets do it!
I am taking suggestions for one, which I will gladly coordinate. For my schedule it will have to be a weekend day trip/outing of some sort. And I am thinking the best time period might be the beginning/middle of March.
I am open to suggestions on what to do. In the past some people have suggested something like a trip to the Baltimore Aquarium or downtown to something like the Spy Museum (I went there on a work outing last year and want to go back because I didn't have enough time to really appreciate it).Or it could be simply a get together at a bar/restaurant.
There are so many smart funny people here that I would love to meet!
Let me know! Feel free to PM me with questions/suggestions.
PS-Please keep this thread kicked so that more people can see this. Thanks!!
:hi:

8. Okay
I have to admit I feel a little bad for ya (that was a shocker I admit). But hey, at least your head coach is not going to up and resign in the next couple of days (probably).
You should come..I'll wear my big poofy Redskins jacket if its cold and bring you a Jessica Simpson cut out mask...;-)

18. I have an idea
Edited on Thu Jan-17-08 07:48 AM by lizerdbits
On Colbert Tuesday night his picture is hanging in... oh shit now I forgot where but some museum in DC near the bathrooms. How about we meet there and get a DU pic in front of his picture? I think it's only there for a month though so we'd have to do it sooner that you planned.

front of the bathrooms at Union Station. Sounds a little Larry Craig like. :scared:

22. IF you meet at the Balt. aquarium,
Edited on Thu Jan-17-08 10:21 AM by stuntcat
then you might wanna do it on a weekday because that place is OVERRUN on the weekends.. which could also be fun, just know you'll be tripping over noisy little kids everywhere you turn and it's hard to watch the tanks with all the screaming going on x(
That part of Baltimore would be fun for a meetup though I think, there's a lot to see just walking around there.

I might would go to a meetup if it's in Arlington, or in DC if it's near a Metro stop, I'm just afraid of meeting people and them finding out how creepy I am

23. Don't be afraid
I'm pretty weird. And Turtlensue is a bit strange.

Thanks for the aquarium warning, it might be tricky for some of us to get days off. I definitely want to stay away from screaming children.

28. There's a Pizzeria Uno in Union Station that is friendly to groups like this
I was part of a group that met there regularly some years ago. I assume they're still as group friendly.

The place itself is no biggie ...... the food is chain food and the service was 'okay'. But it is very convenient. Union Station is accessible by train and Metro and not hard to get to by car, with parking on site.

When we met there, they put us on a balcony overlooking the old main waiting room. It is right up the street from the Capitol. For those who might want to do some sightseeing, everything is, literally, a Metro ride away.

31. Dupont Circle is another spot with a wide variety of restaurants
and right on the Red Line. Many choices there.

and there are better restaurants in Union Station, too.
