4. Aye true that
Of cours my worst hangover ever was either the time I drank two bottles of Night Train in college, or the time I drank Singha Beer + Red Bull (Thai Style) + Thai Stick.

8. Is it wrong to want a large amount of drinkable wine for informal social occasions?
I say no. I highly recommend the 2005 Delicato California Merlot. Moderately acidic, fruity but not sweet, very little oak, and a clean, dry finish. It's not subtle, but it's pretty forgiving in terms of food pairing (and at 13.5% ABV, you and your guests will be feelin' no pain in short order).

15. I have some black box chardonnay in my fridge right now
just opened it last night. delicious. But i have to wonder what I'm going to do with 3 liters of the stuff. I haven't tried the other black box wines yet. One of their reds is next on my radar.

16. Stays 'fresh' longer
Since the bladder collapses and reduces the amount of wine exposed to air.

I typically don't get boxed wine, but I don't look down my nose at it anymore.

23. Although 2-buck chuck sauvignon blanc
was not bad. Because of our draconian liquor laws, Trader Joe's in Pennsylvania can't sell wine, but we stopped at one in Tucson while on a recent vacation, and stocked up their on cheap wine before heading out to the boonies.

Some of the cheap Pinot Grigio was horrible, especially some of the wines from the Veneto, but the three-buck-chuck sauvignon blanc (maybe $4 by now?) was okay and for the price it was WONDERFUL.

I'm the opposite of those people who were researched recently who thought wine tasted better if they thought it had a higher price tag. I am VERY well disposed to any wine I think is inexpensive, particularly if I'm paying for it.

Really, considering the cost of Beringer, it's not that much cheaper than a (almost) drinkable bottle....
