My Job Has Become A Bad "B" Movie

I can't even say some of the things that have happened in the last year and a half. Let's just say, that I've seen some things done to people by physicians that are too out there not to say something.

I had some very small part in getting rid of one of these bozo's, one who seemed to think that if you didn't ask a person if they were suicidal then you didn't have to deal with it. (That is just one facet of a multifaceted problem) He was asked to leave finally.

Now we've got one who is perhaps even worse. Fortunately he is leaving soon, and there is a plan to care for the patients that we see.

In my 20 years in the mental health field I have never seen this kind of thing. To put it mildly I have become disillusioned.

There is so much that is horrid, why do I stay? I wonder sometimes. I feel a loyalty to the mission of the unit, to my fellow employees, and to the hope that we will find a way out of this insanity.

I feel for you. All that nonsense belongs WAY in the past.
