I just can't rent "Waitress" after what happened to Adrienne Shelley.
She was so perfect in those Hal Hartley movies like "Trust". Then she was killed last year in such a senseless manner... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Adrienne_Shelly

Even though people say that Waitress is a great flick I just can't do it. Anybody else feel that way?

1. I loved it. Others here didn't like it at all.

Kerri Russell was wonderful. And yes, it is hard to watch because I think it's obvious that Shelly had many more films in her.

It's not really much like a Hal Hartley movie. Don't expect that.

2. I thought it was a very sweet movie
I sort of knew the story about her being killed but what I didn't realize until the end of the movie was that she played one of the characters in the movie. That came as a bit of a shock to me.

3. It is sad
yes to realize you're watching a prematurely dead person.

I once turned on TCM, and they were running a promo short on...... Sharon Tate!

It was creepy and sad to see her so full of life and ambition, and knowing that it didn't go anywhere.

But, I still want to see Waitress. Somehow, it feels like I ought see what she thought was the best of herself, y'know?

4. I know but I just don't feel like crying right now.
It's such a sad ending to a decent life.
