Intelligent Design? I Don't THINK so.
Three words to that incontrovertibly refute the intelligent design theory:

Post Nasal Drip

Case closed.

1. I got another two.
Wisdom teeth - obviously evolved for when people kept losing teeth in their adulthood
ingrown toenails - Seriously, if there is a designer, that was pretty goddamn stupid of him.

6. I don't have a problem with that at the moment...
but I'm sure in a few years I'll start losing my flexibility enough for that to be a problem.

Although that problem can be easily taken care of just by observing certain animals in nature.

And by that, I mean watch what bears do when they have an itchy back. :)

11. Oh shoot, there are lots more..... the knee joint - way too much lateral weakness and really
doesn't last as long as the rest of the body, ditto for the hip joint.

Lower back not really designed for upright walking.

Baby's head is too large for the birth canal.

Eye retina design leaves a lot to be desired on several counts. The ID people who cite the eye as an example of irreducible complexity obviously do not have a clue.

Goose bump cold reflex doesn't make a heck of a lot of sense on a naked ape.

Those huge flying buttresses above the canine teeth - what's up with that?

Two words: Male nipples. Now how stupid is that?

Failed human pregnancies in first trimester - estimated to be 1/3 or more - colossal waste of energy - An intelligent design would get rid of defective models before the fertilized egg implants.

Human ear muscles - do we really have those just so we can do parlor tricks?

Fetal blood circulation in mammals - very inefficient and requires a "hole in the heart" which all too often does not close at birth as it is supposed to - usually fatal if not surgically repaired.

All kinds of congenital defects - one would think in an intelligently designed animal most of these individuals would be weeded out early, given the high miscarriage rates in humans (see above).

And these are just a few found in humans. Here is a more complete list.

15. This is why intelligent design makes sense
Edited on Fri Jan-18-08 06:31 PM by Xipe Totec
I mean, if you're going to design something, might as well do it intelligently. Right?

Otherwise, you end up with things like post nasal drip.

We should never design by trial and error.
