40th Birthday Ideas?

I turn 40 soon, and I still haven't decided what to do for my birthday party. Anyone have any great 40th birthday party stories? Good ideas?

The best part about being over 40 is being able to predict the weather by when your joint pains flare up

A nice present and a party at the same time.

:D Tandem skydive from 18,000 ft: 90 seconds of freefall at 120 mph!!! It was TOTALLY fun and a great metaphor for leaping into my 40's with wild abandon!! :bounce: I then had an outrageous party with 100 of my closest friends and showed the 9 minute video of the jump itself, set to very cool music. My hubby came up with a great idea of doing a timeline posterboard, called "The Time of her Life" with all the different decades marked out and my friends could mark where they came into my life and write a silly story or whatever with different colored markers. It was a VERY clever idea and gave everyone the chance to participate in creating something really cool and unique. I still have it as a cherished momento. :thumbsup: I hope you have FUN no matter what you decide to do! :hi:

for my 40th. We were living in CA at the time and it was July, so it was cheap to get there and it was hotter than hell :-). But we made some friends who are still friends today (this was in 1992).It was a great birthday.

Maybe my wife is secretly planning something for me.:shrug:
