murder/suicide
I posted last week about the two young children (very good friends of the family) who were struck by a car and killed last Friday night. We found out yesterday that their aunt (the mother's twin sister) undressed herself and the children and purposely walked them into the oncoming traffic. I know this is no way to start out a saturday morning at the lounge, but I am really upset and just needed to share....

9. omg,
my best friend is a twin, and her twin was killed a few years ago walking home from a bachelor party he go hit by a drunk driver who left him in the road to die. His best friend found him in the road the next morning. It's very hard on twins to lose one, but to lose the kids too, I don't even want to imagine it.

 :grouphug:

10. I wish we knew more about this.
You knew the kids? That must make it so hard. I think the entire population is mourning these people. I wish we knew more about her condition and what made her snap. She obviously loved those kids and had children of her own. The press states that she had "a brief history of mental illness", but doesn't specify what kind.

12. yes I knew the kids
I'm sure her sister may know what kind of mental illness she had, I only hope the parents know more answers than the rest of us, so they can find some sort of peace.

15. FWIW, news is saying she had a short period
of mental illness sometime during the last year. They say her twin had no idea she was still sick or sick again.

It's so sad RP. I'm so very sorry.

30. I was talking to my brother about this
He said the "history" was so vague....."A lot of people have a history of mental illness, but few of them could do something like this"

I just feel sorry for everyone involved, including the aunt who killed them, she must have been so sick.

The nightmares are unbearable.

32. My deepest sympathies
to you and the family. And sharing is always a good way to start the day, if you need to share something like this all the more reason to start the day with sharing so that others might help you through the day if only with words.

34. I read that update on sfgate and thought: how much more horrid could it be?
I hope that in those final moments the children had no fear because they trusted her. It's so terrible for the whole family. My sincere condolences to them all.
