2. Nelson Mandela - to be humbled

3. Clapton - to be schooled (and this one is a real possibility since one of his homes is close by)

5. Joss Stone - to enjoy the beauty of her voice as it moves through about a zillion genres

68. Wow, that's funny.
Maddin is a friend of mine. Somehow you don't expect to see your friends' names on lists like this. Though he does make incredible movies.

I share your feelings about politicians. Don't want to meet any of them particularly. Might have wanted to say hi to RFK or Paul Wellstone, though. My list would pretty much all be film directors:

Jean-Luc Godard
David Cronenberg (though I've talke to him on the phone)
Jim Jarmusch
Martin Scorsese
Leonard Cohen (okay, not all of them are directors.)

I bet they would be a lot of fun.

Dennis Kucinich is a great guy to talk to. He's a good listener, looks you in the eye when you talk to him. He's also a hugger.

Al Gore looks fantastic in person, tall and handsome. He's so relaxed, too, and funny. Big Dog is very charismatic, he lights up the room. He's also another one who looks you in the eye and makes you feel like you're the only person in the room. Hillary is nice, also more relaxed in person. She laughs and smiles a lot more than you would think.

You won't be disappointed. I met him after an acoustic show in Manchester a few years ago, and he is a remarkable guy. He's smart and down to earth. His only flaw is that he's a lifelong Yankees fan (he admitted this to a group of Sox fans, so he gets points for honesty!)
