I made a birthday cake for a 97-year-old the last week of 2007.

Inspired by the Goddess of Guinness' thread, I made a 97-year-old man a birthday cake. Yellow cake (non-radioactive) with chocolate icing and two candles!!!

He was 97 right before new year's day.

He still drives, and comes up and drives around the lot, checks on my country house when I am not there. Very devoted man. He spent 30 years in the military and also used to work for my grandparents as a farmhand.

Friends like that are priceless. He told us to get him a new watch at the discount store. He offered to pay us for it and we said "Forget about it. You're family!".

There are some great old people out there that just love a bit of appreciation!
It's not that big of a deal to us, but they appreciate it so much.

PS: I'm a piano player too!

A few weeks ago he said his muscles were really hurting him and I wrote down what I thought would help his muscle aches: Magnesium and potassium pills. He said they helped him a lot!!
