Mmmm.... just had me a bowl of steamed mussels
I sliced up some Kielbasa and fried it for a bit, added some whole mushrooms, cooked a bit then added some scallions chopped into one inch length, tossed in a half pound of shrimp and a half pound of mussels, poured in some white wine and steamed until the mussels were done.

Garnished with some chopped scallion greens, and ate it just as it is - no sides or nuthin'.

Yummy!!

1. You just did absolutley nothing for me; sorry about that.
I'm allergic to shellfish.

But I'm glad you enjoyed your dinner.

2. Crap. I just FedExed you a box of it.
x(

Thanks for being glad that I enjoyed it!

I have incredible sympathy for those allergic to shellfish - that's the one food item that would crush me to have an allergy to. I love all seafood.

3. Don't worry; I'll give it to Mrs R and she'll be happy as a clam.
Awful pun, that, but true.

4. Did you buy them from the ghost of Molly Malone?
In Dublin's fair city,
where the girls are so pretty
I first set my eyes on sweet Molly Malone
As she wheel'd her wheel barrow
Thro' streets broad and narrow

Crying "Cockles and Mussels alive, alive O!"
Alive, alive O! Alive, alive O
Crying Cockles and Mussels Alive, alive O!

She was a fishmonger,
But sure 'twas no wonder,
For so were her father and mother before,
And they each wheel'd their barrow
Thro' streets broad and narrow,
(Repeat Chorus)

She died of a fever
And no one could save her,
And that was the end of sweet Molly Malone;
But her ghost wheels her barrow
Thro' streets broad and narrow

6. Christ, I used to sing that song back when I played Irish music. And, you know,
if you do it right, it doesn't even sound hokey.

Like the guy who sang "Danny Boy" in the movie "Ghost" (the one with Virginia Madsen (God, I've never wanted a blonde woman so badly) and Tommy Lee Jones).

That was not hokey at all. He SANG that song, he did.
