I accidentally put it on my NetFlix (I thought it was the movie "Talk to Her" and I was in a Pedro Almodovar kick) and wasn't even sure I wanted to bother watching this movie.

But I did.

And OMG I'm so glad I watched this movie. Julia Christie absolutely blew me away and damn, that woman is still amazingly beautiful at her age! I only wish I could age half as well as she has!

And the movie brought a new light to Alzheimer and how it affects the loved ones of those who are afflicted with it.

I also think Sarah Polley will get the nomination for her screenplay. Sarah has many acting creds under her belt but nothing outstanding; however, I think Ms. Polley has found herself in a position where she will be well remembered in Hollywood as a talented screenwriter and directer (sad to see she was not nominated for directing)

2. I hope so - the real competition will be Marion Cotillard

Elizabeth the movie was not well rated and Cate will get her Oscar for "I'm not There". Laura Linney is a talented actress but I don't think this is the movie that'll finally give her the win (she's been nominated enough - my guess is her first win will be a supporting role). Ellen Page I think is the dark horse. This is Ms. Page's first breakout role and will probably have many many nominations to come before she hits jackpot.

No, it's down to Christie and Cotillard. I think this is Christie's year but Cotillard could pull a "Benigni" and take home the oscar (Benigni won the best actor for the Italian movie "Life is Beautiful") (BTW, I thought it should have been Edward Norton in "American History X" - that movie was way more powerful of a performance than "Life is Beautiful")

4. I really don't think so. I think Christie is a lock here.
So many people thought Jolie had it locked up. She didn't even get nominated. Cate will get best supporting actress I agree.
