My little guy came home about 15 minutes ago >>>Is it too soon
the vet called and said

"SPOOKY IS READY TO GO HOME"

said they couldn't do much for him there and he would not let them comfort him at all. Said he was hissing and spitting at everything and every one

SO

He is home with me. I am a little nervous...will he be okay. They were supposed to keep him over night I am glad he is home but don't want to hurt him

1. Did he get fixed?
Ours came home the same day, all we had to do is get him a lampshade collar, b/c he was being a brat and wouldn't leave the surgery site alone. He should be fine. How does he seem?:)

5. That test is really important.

$45 is kind of a lot, but that's a good test to have. I got a new kitten recently, and they tested her for it, too when I took her in to be checked over. You want to be sure they are FeLV negative.

7. Why didn't you want it? It's essential!
Feline Leukemia is nothing to fuck around with...Very serious. All kitties need that test.

6. He'll be fine
keep some water handy, but pick up his food until tomorrow. He's going to be in La La Land for a while (which is why the vets usually keep them overnight). Keep him warm & comfy & in a day or so, you'll have your "real" kitty back. :)

8. oh I hope he's doing okay
I think the surgery they give the boy cats is simple and hard to screw up. They must have known he was gonna be fine, he just has to rest.
*big hug for little Spooky*

11. The little boy wanted to be with his human momma
just watch him and let him rest. From what I read in the other posts he is doing just fine. Don't worry too much and please post more pics of that cutie pie :D

12. Sounds like you've got a very good vet...
Once Spooky's medical condition was stable, then his own 'comfort' level is important, and he's definitly more comfortable at home with Mom.

And everyone is right about Feline Leukemia, it's nothing to mess with.
Since he's tested negative, he can be vaccinated against it.

Lost a cat to this disease when he was only four years old...and that was one too many.
