I actually used the phrase "violence inherent in the system"
in my sermon Sunday. And had to fight to keep from chuckling.

2. MLK Day sermon. I hadn't thought about the phrase when I wrote it down.
But in the pulpit, I really "heard" it. And pictured two medieval figures harvesting mud!

4. I was preachin' about pacifism, and about how we're all
beholden to and responsible for "the violence inherent in the system". It was all pretty Girardian, and the phrase worked in context. It just struck me as funny in the middle of my sermon.
