A Poem for Tonight...Rain
The swirl of wind

Blows past my window

The rain slashes at my feet

No-one lingers

Even folks in cars

Hurry

Their lights sweep

The pavement

Twilight’s falling

And the rain’s so

inhospitable...

Wet

Cold

Dark

I figured this one had died, and gone to poetry heaven!

And yes, it was based on true events, sort of...

I was inspired last night when I looked out my big sliding glass door just to my right, and I saw the twilight and the rain starting...

And then the words showed up inside me, just as they always do...
