In praise of Mrs.Grumpy
she's being tested in a way that's unthinkable. Nobody should ever have to endure what she's going through... but she's doing it.

She's so much stronger than anyone should ever have to be. I love her.

She has to go on, and she will, and she will do it with grace and honor.

She was supposed to come out after Christmas, but Nicole wasn't well enough to travel yet.

I think we'll take her to the Olive Garden in Times Square, for some authentic EYE-talian food.

30. Careful. She might actually enjoy it.
I love the woman as much as anyone, however it must be noted that she puts mayo in her spinach-artichoke dip. She might actually consider Olive Garden to be haute cuisine!

If I ever turn up in her part of the world, I hope she won't take offense if I just crunch on the raw veggies or chips or whatever; it'd be a small price to pay...

44. Haruka would like her dip, then
And she's an Italian food snob.

Even though Haruka loves butter and mayo, she will not eat mayo outside of the home, however. I don't eat mayo anywhere.

22. .
I love you too Shawn, and so many of the people who stood by us.

We are/were a private family, with the exception of posting about our lives on this site and my blog. So much of me wanted to have people continue to believe it was just some sort of horrible medical happening/accident. In reality, it was an accident and I know he would ask for a do over, if those were allowed. God knows I beg for one every morning. Truthfully, I was/am worried about the "train wreck" aspect of it. And I am a hypocrit that way.

It isn't strength, for I have been weak enough to contemplate some pretty stupid stuff in the past 4 months and 29 days. I force myself to look at my children. I imagine someone having to tell my son and daughter the very same thing I had to tell in August. I would give anything to not have to be here without him but I know that isn't fair or possible. I am so weak at times that I disgust myself.

25. Hemingway once defined Courage
As grace under pressure. I have my quarrels with Papa's philosophy, but I think he hit it on the nose there.

Your recent posts have been shining examples of Courage. Maybe they'll help someone else who needs it.

I wish I could give you this hug in person.

even your belief that I am strong.

But, I am not. This is a girl who stares at the cupboard that contains her medicine and thinks, sometimes, it would be easy to just not take it. This is a girl who is still in her pajamas at 4 PM in the afternoon. I needed him even more than I realized it...even though I told him a million and a halfx 20 times how much I needed him.

Perhaps that was wrong, but he was everything to me and my children. And, sometimes, this is all just too much.

I guess I shouldn't call myself a girl anymore. The days have been years, and I feel as if I am 99 a lot of the times. Oh how I wish,
