What multiple versions of songs do you have on your MP3 player?
With the ability to search and sort my playlist I only recently discovered my habit for getting multiple versions of songs. For example, I have four (4!) versions of Caravan.

Caravan
Les Paul & Chet Atkins
Johnny Depp (Chocolat soundtrack)
Thelonius Monk
Van Morrison.

So what song do you have mulitples of?

6. Yes it is!
I wish I had the whole album, but I just have one song.

IIRC I found it because I was actually searching for the Chet + Mark Knopfler album. Caravan is a really lovely bonus.

So sorry, MrsG. It will always be your song and no one else's.

I felt the same about a piece we played at my mother's funeral, the 2nd movement of Dvorak's From The New World Symphony. (It's also a fairly common hymn melody) Couldn't bear to hear it for years after because I would just collapse.

I can listen to it now with a much deeper passion than I did before. edit: Here it is: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-ENf4VEhI40&NR=1 (there's a 2nd part but you get the idea.)

Hang in there. :loveya:

the one with his version of NIN's "Hurt." The version of Bridge is very different, but the pairing of the voices is powerful- It's a moving song to begin with, and this version really gets to me for some reason...

I'll have to look for that EC/LW version of Wild Horses...

Edited for a brain fart....

I just remember that because when I checked for dupes last time I added a bunch more stuff to the server, I remember counting them up and going, "Damn, that's a lot of versions of one song." :D

27. Well, let's see
I've got two versions by its author, Herbie Hancock. They are on the albums Takin' Off and Head Hunters. I've got also got two versions by Mongo Santamaria, who got the song into the US top 10 in 1963. Finally I have a version by the incredible Jimmy Smith, from the 1995 album "Damn!"

26. I don't have an mp3 player...
but I do have a few CDs worth of stuff ripped to my harddrive. I think the only doubles I have are from different versions of video game soundtracks. :) I.E., I've got most of the Final Fantasy soundtracks in orchestral, piano and original game rip format.

30. Little Wing
By Hendrix, Clapton, and Stevie Ray. Fascinating to listen to the different interpretations.

Also Minor Swing, by Django Reinhardt. One is the studio cut, one is a live cut.
