and tomatoes with savory and a warm butter sauce, served with a bitchin' cold very dry Martini.

Yes, indeedy, I just ate me a damn fine lunch.

And it was one of those awesome T-Bones with lots of meat on both sides of the bone, and about an inch thick. Damn.

on edit: added the notoriously pretentious diacritical in apéritif.

1. Take that racist crap to another site
We don't tolerate slurs like Negroni on this progressive board

2. I've heard of a T-bone steak before
But not a Negroni or an aperitif. Please advise my non-refined, beer swilling, redneck ass.

3. Aperitif is a before dinner drink designed to stimulate the appetite
Edited on Sun Jan-27-08 04:52 PM by Rabrrrrrr
Usually has some kind of bitters, since bitters are foreplay for the tastebuds.

Negroni: equal parts gin, sweet Vermouth, and Campari (Campari is a bitter)

Other good aperitifs would include Old Fashioned, Rob Roy, Manhattan, Pink Martinis, and so forth.

Also Sherry, Ouzo, and some other liqueurs can be good aperitifs.
