Some pictures from my skiing adventure this weekend
Saturday 48percenter and I went skiing in the Austrian Alps. We had gorgeous sunny and mild weather. It was a joy to ski. Since I hadn't been skiing in about 8 years I was a bit worried how I would do. It went amazingly well. I only fell in the afternoon when I decided to try out the bit more advanced slopes. Not a good idea when you start to get tired. Now I made it down without breaking anything but every muscle in my body aches now.

I dare you to make comments on how I look :P

9. We were so lucky with the weather
the next day it was overcast and windy. We picked the perfect day to go.

I sure am glad you can't really recognize me in all those clothes

14. We used to call those days
"Chamber of Commerce days".

Those are the pics that get into the travel brochures. I mean, think about it -- did you ever see pics of hurricane damage in a "Visit Florida" ad? Nope! They choose the most beautiful days of the year (which are usually in the winter) for their photos. Makes you want to visit. And when you actually experience one of the days when it looks just like the picture, it seems almost surreal.

15. While we still lived in the GDR
and saw postcards of the Alps with blue sky we always thougt they were fake. But once we moved to the Lake Constance and saw the Alps .... it was true :wow:

16. So you know
what I'm talking about. ;)

Sometimes if I see a particularly beautiful sky, I'll comment to harleydad that if anyone painted a picture like that, no one would believe the colors were real. You know -- too much artistic license.

18. We plan on it
48percenter and I talked about it already. That we want to take you and Briarius (I can't keep his new name in mind) to go skiing with us. Or you could try snowboarding. But I heard that is really hard to learn. Anyway, there are ski schools that can help you :)

And the "idiot hill" was very easy. You should make it down there without hurting yourself :D
