Why I hate the Super Bowl

'Cause it's being played about 5 mi from my house and the whole town is being taken over by the damn thing.

If the Super Bowl was playing here, there is no way I could keep BoyMidlo away. He was on the 'net last night searching for cheap tickets. :eyes:

He's a HUGH Giants fan.

2. Do you know that some tickets are going for as much as $18,000?!

Most tickets are selling for somewhere around $700.
The cost of airfare to Phoenix from the east coast has tripled. And no hotel rooms are available. People are renting out rooms in their homes to visitors, some for as much as $850 a night. The gouging is incredible and people are still paying whatever is being asked.
I don't follow football so lucky for me I have no interest in going to the game.

It's absolutely insane here. 125,000 people are expected in town.
And to make matters worse, the FBR Open is in town this week bringing around 75,000 more people.
I'm staying home this week. :scared:

3. I saw that. The night the Giants won, I got on the net to search for

tickets. Cheapest ones I could find were $7,500!!!!!

Plus, when we went to the Phoenician last April the airfare was $800!!! I can only imagine what it is now.

Crazy.

I placated him with a promise to Disney and Universal and the Beach for spring break. There's a good chance that by the time it's over, I'll be living in my van...down by the river.

It's March 22 through the 29th. I'm still working on the hotels and flights et al. TM was dying to go to the beach, but BabyMidlo doesn't remember Disney, so I figured what the hey.

I think we're going to Tampa as well to visit a friend.
