Have You Ever Smoked Pot?

I have neither smoked it, tried it, or experimented with it.....

and I get the munchies on my own just fine. I don't need chemical help in any of those areas.

Occasionally, I miss the thrill of doing something illegal.

But why would I want more spacy added to the cadet?

I guess I just value my lungs and my brain too much. I don't wanna put too many funny chemicals in there and gum up the works.

Neither has my wife, or the kids (22 and 17). Never saw the point, really.

edit: However, a couple of years ago I nearly peed my pants when my mom informed me that she had tried it! Turns out it was during chemo, to try to reduce the nausea, but it didn't work. No word on any other effects, but she would've preferred liquor anyway, I think. That lady could drink a barroom full of sailors under the table, it seemed to have no effect on her.

Never touched the stuff.

Still think they should legalize it, though.

I've seen what it does to people. It pretty much turns 'em into me. Hence why I don't do it... I don't need to be any more like me. :) But I think the world would be a cooler place if there were more of me in it.

27 years ago when I found out my miracle (literally!) baby, Kaghime, was on her way. Have taken the TTT (Token Telluride Toke) over the years but other than that, it has been many a year. So, Agent Mike, how 'bout you, you nosey butt?

Got a very pleasant high both times!

But that was many years ago, alas...

And hot gases of any sort aren't good for your lungs...

I tried it once in my mid 30s at a party.
Got paranoid as hell and thought every guy there was trying to get in my wife's knickers.
Weird.

Seriously, booze is a bad enough vice, and despite the Candyland stories, I've seen pot destroy several lives. If you NEED anything, it's a problem.

My sister is the same way.. We just don't enjoy pot.. But we are both raging alcoholics if that helps.

I have probably smoked pot 150 times.

Enjoyed a few brownies in my college days, too.


Lots of contact highs in seminary...LOTS!! Not since, though.

No illegal drugs of any type...

Don't drink, don't take anything othe than aspirin. My Dad tokes, he is 80 and is in a great amount of pain and takes nothing more than Advil, couple of puffs and he is all good.

Though we've been out for over a week. :cry:

It's my secret identity: Otherlander the Secret Non-pot smoker. No one at my high school will ever know. They must all go on believing that I smoke marijuana (all three) or else I will no longer have a secret identity.

Not a good experience. Here's my recipe for a spinning head:

1 beer + 7-8 vodka drinks + 2 tequila drinks + 2 lemondrop shooters + 2 whiskey + part of a joint + some special brownies =

regrets the morning after the night before. (and some drunkel posting on DU)

Wish I had some now.

It took me about 5 tries before it did anything, then finally got some good hydro and was hooked.

Love the stuff.

Drugs don't appeal to me, particularly, beyond the curiosity value, and for me, reading a detailed description is wholly satisfying in that regard. :D

Along with coffee and cigarettes.

It's very enjoyable, you should try it.

but I decided that I'm going to abstain until I feel I'm in a comfortable and stable enough job where drug testing won't be an issue.

I do sort of miss it and it can be tempting when friends smoke it...

I think it should be legal, but I've never tried it. Never tried any other drug, either, but I do drink alcohol, though very moderately.

down my row at a Donovan concert in 1968. I hesitated and passed it on. I was terrified that my parents would find out and I'd be in serious trouble. The mere thought of how they'd react was enough to keep me on the straight and narrow.

Do you get a National Science Foundation grant and then get blitzed and listen to the Allman Brothers for an entire weekend? Do you write a report afterwards? Apply for an extension because you got the munchies and couldn't write the report? What?!

but yes, and here is a funny pot story.

A few years ago this friend stopped by my house with a black plastic trash bag with four or five male plants in it. He asked me if I could boil them down for him, and that he couldn't do it in his apartment as it is too small and the smell would be detected. See, you boil the plants and then dump in a bunch of butter. THC is fat soluble so the butter absorbs the THC. Then you use the butter to bake! Anyway, he takes off and I boil the plants, which I'd never done before. I didn't realize you could get high from the steam, for one thing, and the other thing is you don't notice the smell while you are around it. I went off to the store and when I came back I could smell this shit boiling from about a block away from my house!! I was lucky no cops drove by!!:smoke:
