5. I misread this thread as "STFU Bingo".
I think that's more appropriate.

6. Katrina square will not be used
No way is he going to bring that up.
I see you left out Afghanistan -- I agree that he won't mention Afghanistan by name.

8. It was really hard to pick the squares. I didn't want every on of them to be easy
I figure if he just sits there staring at the camera like he's brain dead we could get CHIMP on the (smirks) going diagonally.

16. So how did your 8th grader do? I wonder if you caught the substitute phrases
shrub used for certain terms? And the number of times he referred to military issues as opposed to economic and civil rights issues. He did NOT say Katrina but used the term "gulf states".
We scored on column H at around 9:51...my friend called and said she had it on the diagonal (smirks) at around 9:17
If we had included a square for "citizens" or "American families" instead of working families, we'd have done better.

All in all, I'd say we had more fun using the bingo card than we would have had just listening to him and crying like we usually do.

19. Turns out he had to be busy filling out the sheet his teacher had given him instead
I just listened and cringed...I had to make dinner while we were watching it, so I couldn't focus on the bingo card as much. :eyes: I'm glad you had fun, though. It was a cool idea.

My son didn't like how he spoke of using coal for energy, instead of focusing on solar and other renewable forms of energy. He definitely caught that one.

11. I wonder if they'll sell some new catchphrases tonight.
Stay the course, mission accomplished, etc. You know, those feel-good but have zero action associated with them soundbites that are tossed upon us like so much fecal matter.

12. No doubt. I say you could replace a (smirk) with anything that seems fecal enough!

Let someone else collect the glory for the bingo.

20. Empowerment
Empowerment was the word of the day. Meaning, the gov't won't be helping you out, so go empower yourselves.
