Poll question: Who's REALLY seen Seabiscuit?
Who liked the movie? Who didn't? I saw it and really loved it. Part of it was filmed at Saratoga, NY which is near where I live. To see places you have been to as part of a movie is kind of cool! So, your opinions?? :)

5. lol......................................Mrs Grumpy -
I loved that movie too, saw it a couple weekends ago. Well, I saw an ad for it today on TV and I told myself I'll see it again when it hits the dollar theater. That'll be a first for me. I just loved Johnny Depp in that movie. :D

8. I don't often buy movies for home use, because I figure after a few times
I'd be bored and so it would be a waste of money. But that film will increase my library to ....two.

Side note: my son thinks that Capn Jack Sparrow is his uncle. My brother bears just a slight resemblance to Johnny Depp, but the people around us in the theater were cracking up...glad he didn't say Dad.;-)

I'm done hijacking this thread now.

12. 10 minutes into the film, I KNEW i would be buying the DVD...
I just hope they have an e-x-p-a-n-d-e-d edition, like there is with the LOTR trilogy.

3. Very well made, well acted
and killer racing scenes. Sometimes I wondered where the damn camera was; I mean, it is RIGHT THERE BETWEEN THE HORSES and you can hear the THUNDERING HOOVES. Very cool.

6. It is very cool
When you have the chance to be at the track like I do. Very exciting, especially those photo finish races. They've got incredible cameras, because they film 12 or so races a day every track season.

11. I've seen it...didn't think it was all that great.
In retrospect, I would have much rather seen "Pirates..." a second time instead.

For me, "Seabiscuit" just seemed to d-r-a-a-a-a-g on.

Also-I don't know what affect it might have had on my less-than-enthusiastic opinion of the film, but in my own thinking- especially since the rise of the internal combustion engine, horse racing is pretty much irrelevant- nothing more than a reason to gamble, and certainly not a sport, IMO.
BTW- that by no means means that I am any kind of fan of any kind of auto-racing, because I'm not.
In fact- I'm not much of a fan of any sports. I've had DISH network for 3 years, and I've never once watched ESPN(1 or 2), FoxSportsChannel, or any other sports programming. It just isn't my thing.

13. I agree with you
But since Seabiscuit was a true story, they couldn't just cut it down to size.

14. seabiscuit
Loved the portrayal of the heroic against the backdrop of the
harshness of the Depression. It ran better than Bush's
economic policies. By the way if Bush continues unchecked we
may be back to dropping our children off at decrepit stables
with a sack of classic books and call it higher education.
