26. The term "Bleeding Heart" comes from Jesus as he was dying on the cross.
Anytime some wingnut calls me a "bleeding heart," I must conclude they are comparing my levels of compassion and grace to Jesus Christ, and I take it as the highest of compliments.

Ava, I'll bet you dollars to doughnuts that any winger who calls you a "bleeding heart" has no idea of the Christian allusion he or she has just made.

I don't remember if the local redneck co-worker has called me a bleeding heart, but he has tried to use "pacifist" with contempt and disdain. I simply thank him for the compliment.

It has been a difficult morning with him, though. He's being his bigoted-best and I'm glad I can put on headphones to keep from thwarting my pacifist-nature towards him. Why-oh-why do people actually strive to be ignorant?

Anyway, congratulations on getting the label! :)
