I'm not doing. Each day I pretend I am someone else to make it through. I'm having a pity party, and I hate this and I sometimes get myself thinking that I made him/us...all of it...up in my head.

I did her hair and her best friend's. It was bittersweet, because it was the last of many times I have updo'd them for dances and such. Of course they reminded me that there would be weddings but who wants to think of that.

Thank you for the complement. It is very hard to hold on to the spray and combs and Nicole kept laughing because I dropped the spray each time I picked it up.

It is good to see the Tigers finally get it together. The last time they swept the Yankees there was in '66. It was kind of sad, watching the game and realizing they won't play them there anymore. It reminded me of the last season with Tiger Stadium as the venue.

Don't worry about your Yankees, babe. I fully expect the Yankees and the Tigers to meet up in the post season again.

It will be an adjustment for WannaBe for sure but what I realized was...you're not away for that long, there are weekend and holidays and spring breaks where you can meet up with all your old friends.

About 90 percent of my current closest friends were the ones I had growing up and in high school. We all found our way back to each other. Granted, I live in a small town and a small state and almost everybody is close by.

Yeah, the Yanks will be ok.

They look so sweet and down to earth. Hard to explain but not the usual "I wanna be king and queen of the prom" kinda couple. And she can carry off that orange for sure. The bird of paradise he picked out really goes with her dress very well. I know he was worried about that but it worked! :hi:

You are astute. Neither one of them is a wannabe (well except for wannabe wanting to be Grumpy :) ) type. She has loved the color orange since she was a small child. I am just glad it is in "fashion" right now and I didn't end up having to make her a dress...which would have been... bad, very bad. As it stands, the applique on the dress's front fell off and I had to stitch it back on this evening without puncturing her.

My gosh, kids grow up so fast don't they? Your daughter is beautiful..looks very much like you. I think she has quite a handsome, caring young man there, I remember reading his thread about the corsage.

I'm sure they'll have a really good time. Now Mom..stop worrying..they'll be safe. I know..easier said than done to stop worrying..it's what we Mom's are so good at.

I miss my home state, but don't think I could ever go back there now.

I'm hoping all this will wrap up by the end of May. If I haven't found a job, everything goes and I move in with my parents.

I have an interview next week and am hoping for a few more by the time I get there. Once I get a job, then the rest will fall into place.

I was thinking about them today as I watched a bunch of girls heading into a hair salon together to get their up-do's for their prom. I got to gab with WannaB earlier this week, and the hippie and I bantered back and forth a couple days ago. MG (I HATE calling you grumpy).....they are a good couple of kids, you know? I'm sure you do.

They look absolutely stunning - and the hippie looks like part of the British Invasion. Make sure you tell him that, okay? That's probably the utmost compliment for a Beatles freak! :)

And your daughter - who by the way looks so much like you that it's striking - looks so happy, doesn't she? With all of the angst-ridden teens I see roaming around, it's nice to see one whose eyes sparkle for a change.
