I am, apparently, the "Go To" person regarding multimedia, as far as the PTA and the school goes.
This morning, during the PTA exec meeting, the principal asked me to help him with a Powerpoint presentation (he wanted to embed some audio clips into it) for the STAR testing assembly. I asked him when he needed it done. "By 1:15 today!"

Okey Dokey.

I had to actually go home and edit the audio clips so that they were smaller files so they would work on the presentation, since there apparently is not an audio editor on the school computers. (I use a PC but I want a Mac). The school is using PCs, and because of that, there are not all the fun multimedia bells and whistles.

I managed to get it done for him. The assembly was a roaring success!

:D

3. Thanks
It is totally the kind of stuff I like to do.

If I could get a part time, seasonal job playing with multimedia stuff...

Well, I used to be. Past President in fact. Met some wonderful people, had lots of fun, did some good stuff for some great kids.

9. My best friend, a teacher, has Macs in her classrooms
The kids go nuts making iMovies. A very nice way to hook them into a lesson plan and keep them wildy enthusiastic.

When I become dictator, Macs in every classroom. Unfortunately, we'll have to sell Texas to Mexico to pay for my plan. My apologies to anyone who will be affected by this cost-saving measure.

11. This is an idea with merit
You should introduce it onto the floor at the next meeting of the Future Evil Overlords Committee. I'll give it a second. But still, if we use Texas for that, we'll have to find another state to pay for the computers. I'm at a loss...

14. They are starting STAR testing next Monday.
Our principal is really cool. His STAR testing assembly was not run-of-the-mill at all. He is very creative and really reaches the kids.
