1. Never play in the Jefferson Airplane whether stoned or sober
Morrison was right: the shittiest band in the world. And to think: their worst work was years ahead of them!

I rather liked "White Rabbit" and "Somebody to Love"; a couple later songs were good, such as "Lather", but the drugs took their course over the latter half of the 1960s. :(

Mind you, why they became "Starship", I have no idea...

Who is Morrison?

3. Jim Morrison
He played the same shows with them a number of times, and reportedly hated their music. They weren't without their moments, but meh, I have never much cared for them with a couple of exceptions: Miracles. What a great song. I liked Ride the Tiger and Jane, too.

But I won't even name the Song Which Shall Not Be Named.

6. Ah...
I wasn't keen on "The Doors" either... they had a couple good ones, but as with all eras, it's the style of the music or lyrics that stand out. Most songs' lyrics, especially in later albums, are thrown out because they were quite obviously tripping when writing them!

They did redefine music, however. The 1960s was a non-stop tour of musical evolution, even if some of it was induced by illegal substances.

8. That's hilarious!
If only the guards had let her in! Nixon on Acid. Holy shit. Still, it just goes to show why they wouldn't let her in: because she's the kind of person who would dose Tricky Dick.

12. I noticed your comment on the video, and just FYI, even a very large dose of LSD
won't lead to coma or death. Any negative, lasting side-effects will be purely psychological, not physiological.

4. Most of my best work is when I'm under the influence...
but since I don't do drugs, that's usually under the influence of a lack of sleep or something like that. :P

who think that "After Bathing At Baxter's" was a great record. i *like* "Two Heads".

7. I dig the music in "Two Heads"...
but the lyrics are way out there.

I am a square.

Technically a trapezoid, but square fits too...

"Lather" still gets to me. Great song. Not sure why Grace did blackface for the video, but okey dokey...

The greatest guitar player to ever come out of the Bay Area.

Gonna be a killer show.

10. I trust that's a statement stemming from personal experience.

Personally, I've done some of my best writing while my mind was herbally enhanced.

11. It is.
Trust me, when I write, I do it sober and free from all herbs and herbicides.
