Poll question: Do you live to eat or eat to live?
My husband is obsessed with food. He will ask me days in advance what I want for dinner on Friday night. He has to have regularly scheduled meals that consist of a proper proportion of food groups.

I, on the other hand, eat to stay alive. If it weren't for him, I would simply eat when I was hungry and what I ate would depend on what I had on hand. I've lived for months eating nothing but oatmeal and tortillas.

So what's your style?

1. Depends on my mood
Sometimes I forget to eat, sometimes I can't wait to eat. I'd prefer to graze when I feel like it.

2. Is there no grey area?
I grew up with a family of culinary professionals. I enjoy the pleasures of the table. I eat a balanced, nutritious diet. I don't have an emotional attachment to food and drink; it's less than an obsession and more than mere subsistance.

8. I guess that's what option number 2 was meant to convey
But I get your point. Since food to me is just something necessary to maintain my body (I could happily exist on the little cubes things the Jetsons ate :P ), it's hard for me to see all the nuances.

9. I enjoy eating, but I'm not ruled by it.
I think I've got a pretty good balance between wants and needs in my diet.

12. I love food, and I like it done correctly.
I will never be anorexic because I love food too much. I also would probably weigh a lot less if I had to eat food made by a crummy cook or had to eat crap like Raman noodles and TV dinners.

:puke:
