So yesterday there was a baby jay in the yard
squawking ALL DAY. It was hanging out in the bushes by the back porch, its parents were coming and feeding it, and it was having a gay old time.

Then around 5:30 I was sitting out in the back, and I realized something was WRONG. The parents were totally freaking out, and the baby was nowhere to be seen. I became worried and I looked for it, but couldn't find it.

This morning my mom kicked me out of bed early and she said "I found the baby bird and you need to come out here!"

I got out of bed and went outside. The baby was sitting really still on the ground behind one of the bushes. I tried to grab it, but it got up into a tree and I couldn't reach it. I sat out and watched it for a while, and its parents were still looking for it, but it wasn't making any noise.

My mom and I went out to this native plant tour all morning, and when we came home this afternoon the parents were feeding it. :D

2. I like Blue Jays
They have a certain independence about them, a screw the establishment attitude.

4. Are you aware that blue jays are the colorful cousins of crows?
I used to feed squirrels in a local park. I got many jays in the trees as well asking for my attention. I started tossing the peanuts I was feeding my squirrels in a lazy arc and the jays caught them in the air. It was quite a scene.
