11. Oh, how cute! A surfeit of kittens! I've been meaning to get back to you with my new favorite pic of
my little Jack. Took this on the last sunny day that we had here, and there haven't been many. He likes going outside when it's nice, but refuses to go out if it's snowing or raining, which has been most of the time here in the north country. He's awfully stubborn for a puppy. *sigh*

And are you sure that you're not married to my neighbor? LOL. You could do worse, since she was very nice and obviously crazy about her little Maltese. I couldn't help noticing that little Daisy sat up front with her, in her own little car seat, while her little boy was relegated to the back...;)

Jack:loveya::hi:

Hi Rhiannon! :hi:  :loveya:

Unless your neighbor commuted to Philly on weekends, no

I've been looking all over for this pic of Daisy, snuggled with my niece's stuffed kitty.

22. That is just too cute for words!
And the stuffed kitty is bigger than she is, LOL. Jackie loves toys, too, but they have to be small and he likes those that squeak. I got him a stuffed Airedale for his birthday last month, which he really liked, since his best buddy Charlie is an Airedale. But, for some reason, Charlie went after it, chewed the poor thing to bits, so now it's missing an eye and the stuffing is all pulled out. *sigh* :-(

And it's possible that my neighbor is from out of state. I didn't think to check her license plate...

Here's one of my favorite pics of Meneken, LOL. The day I adopted him, my friend went with me to get him examined at the vet and to get him food and a leash, etc. Poor little guy only came with a pillow. She kept saying that he looked like an Ewok and I said he looked more like a Furby, so I took some pix to prove my point. This was my Christmas card, that year...:loveya:

The cat was once a nemesis, because it got more lap time than Daisy did. She just didn't do a Charlie on it. Now she sees it a just another pillow

26. LOL. I get that a lot...
He's such an unusual little dog that he attracts attention wherever he goes. I can't count the number of times that I've been asked "What kind of dog is that?":D

And he's so good that he's welcome at a lot of places, must have been used to being taken. He belonged to an older lady who died. Do you remember the actress Barbara bel Geddes? She played Miss Ellie on Dallas. Meneken belonged to her sister. The thing that I don't understand is why she didn't make arrangements for her dogs. She was a wealthy woman. She had two, Meneken and his sister, but she was placed separately and he was lost without her. I've told my friend in rescue who placed Meneken with me that I'd take the sister in a heartbeat if she ever located her. He immediately bonded with my cocker, Sheena, but then I lost her. My heart broke for him when that happened and I begged my vets to do anything, and they did, but she just had too much going against her. She became homeless when her owner died, too. All my guys have sad stories, but they find a happy ending when they find me.:-)

As for my neighbor, I didn't think to check her groceries, either...

Meneken and Sheena:loveya:

27. Aww indeed
You'd think she'd see to those kind of things seeing she had the resources to do so. But if she hadn't, you and Meneken would've never found each other. That would have been the real tragedy.

If she has a bag that says Wawa on it...

Daisy behaves once she settled, it's the settling that's the prollem (arf. repeat 500 times.) :D

30. I agree. That was one amazing twist of fate.
My breed is cockers, have had four in my life. And after I lost my beloved Barney, I thought that Sheena missed him, so I called about another blond male cocker that was advertised in the paper. The girl in rescue, who has become my good friend, said that this dog had already been placed, but she knew another little dog that was in real trouble, and that was Meneken. I know now that Sheena's behavior was caused by Cushing's Syndrome, but Meneken adored her and she loved being adored. *sigh*

And the bizarre thing about Sheena was that I actually knew her owner. I found out, after ther fact, that her owner who died was a nurse in the oncology unit of the local hospital and I met her when my Dad was in there... It must have been fate that I adopted her dog.:-)

Here's my perfect Barney. He was on the "pet connection" segment of my local news and my mother called me when she saw him because he looked so much like the dog that I grew up with. I called before the news was even over, LOL. Barney had been a stud dog at a commercial kennel and had never lived with people. When he got too old, they were just going to put him down, but he was rescued by a wonderful woman who has placed two cockers with me. He was 10 or 11 when he found me and I had him for eight wonderful years. They said that he wasn't housebroken and couldn't be a pet, but he was perfect from day one...:D

Barney:loveya:

Then again he was in good hands

Just came in from out front, Daisy's best canine pal Phoebe was here, and the 2 of them get along well. Her human and I are friends, and she and I vent while they hang out. A nice hour :)

Now to dig up some pics of Missy, wherever they are on this machine lol

But first, nurse, my drumsticks and the youtube plz :)

36. Barney was indeed very special and much more my speed than Jack, LOL.
I adopt the older ones and am definitely not used to puppies. Barney was at least 10 when he found me, Sheena was eight and Meneken was nine. Jack, on the other hand, was five months... The only other puppy that I've had in my life was the cocker that I grew up with, and I was a kid, too, LOL. Jack was obviously irresistible and it's amazing to find a Brussels Griffon in rescue. I'd only seen one other than Meneken in real life. My vet told me that he had a second BG patient and I saw him one day, when Meneken and I were leaving and the other BG and his person were coming in. Both of us stopped dead, LOL, since she'd never seen another one, either...

Jack isn't too bad as puppies go, but he still is a puppy. He eats all manner of things that aren't food, like vegetation outside, paper products and has chewed the labels off of everything that he's managed to get ahold of. *sigh* That's what I discussed with the Maltese lady in the parking lot, since I took him to doggy class and he wasn't exactly the star pupil. *sigh* She told me that she has a friend who knows of a "dog whisperer" kind of person, locally, and she took my number, but she never did call...:-(

I trained my first puppy myself, actually ran out of things to teach her, and she did tricks. Jack, on the other hand, makes up his own, LOL. Fortunately, he has his big friend to roughhouse with... Here's one of his favorites, uses the back of the recliner as a trampoline, pushes off with his back feet, shoots out into the middle of the room and ruins around in big circles. I've been wanting to tape this for a long time, but it figures that when we finally managed it, the house was a mess and there was a pedophile on the TV (Dateline NBC).x(

Here's the little trickster...:D

38. That's a panic LMAO
Charlie doing the Slow Burn while Jack orbits the known universe at Warp Factor 3 :D

Charlie to Jack - "Knock that off man, she's filming!"

Daisy has her 'moments' as well, she gets too excited when new people come by, and comes off a lil scary around small children. Inside ya silly thing, inside. Oi.

Our 4 dogs have all been young, Ginger was no more than 3 when she found us, and we kept the runt of the litter she had, Midnight. Missy was 2 or 3 months old when she came here and stayed for 17 years :loveya:

Daisy was one when she rescued err we res... you get the idea. 3 years of joy :D
