Actors or actresses who have been in drag in films
That is, an actor who has appeared in drag as a woman and an actress who has appeared in drag as a man (hell, you know what I mean).

Here's one: Phillip Seymour Hoffman in "Flawless". Another exceptional performance from one of my favorite actors.

43. John Leguizamo was incredible in that role.
Wesley Snipes was very good too, but Patrick Swayze was over-acting like he was in a SNL skit.

15. You forgot Cary Grant!
It barely counts, but he dons a marabou-trimmed dressing gown in Bringing Up Baby (long story, folks, but it's well worth it).

He was also in I Was a Male War Bride.

55. I liked it
I remember arguing with a friend over whether it should've won the best makeup Oscar that year, instead of "Harry and the Hendersons". I reasoned that realistic makeup was more challenging than fantasy makeup.
I don't honestly remember it well enough to say whether Durning was in drag. Maybe I blacked that part out. ;-)

:)

And actually, it was a cheap shot on my part. I honestly have a lot of respect for Lupino for her breaking the directing gender barrier. She helmed several very good low budget noir films.

33. Ooops...thanks for the link...
I also discovered that the screenplay was written by Robb White, the author of the very hard to find children's book "The Lion's Paw" sold a copy last month for $70. I only hope that it remains hard to find for others, and not so hard to find for me!

BTW: I have always thought that Marshall/Arless in male drag looked a lot like the young Frank Sinatra Jr

Commander Crill in drag seriously allowed for a major national event. awesome movie incredible acting. saw it last nite twice on A&E.

powerful stuff, especially of course Steven Segal as the Navy Cook/Seal Casey Ryback . a role that got snubbed at '92s Best Actor, lost to Anthony Hopkins.
