I have to spill a secret.

My 12 year son has a girlfriend! :wow: Apparently, his sister (she's 16) weaseled the info out of him, but he swore her (big mouth) to secrecy and no one's supposed to know (he's afraid of getting teased and he's kind of private about stuff). I have no reason for any "concerns", but I think it's kind of sweet. I wish I could give him a big hug and say "Yeah, Joe!', but I can't. Yet.

I have to get the dirt from my daughter for now. She understands as she has spent years hiding most of her boyfriends as to not get mercilessly teased by her siblings. All I know is her name is Julia and she has the same taste in music as my son (AC/DC, The Who, Blink 182... my daughter called her a mini "rocker chick" :headbang:) and my son is trying to now teach himself the guitar to impress her (he plays the trumpet now). Apparently she asked HIM "out" two weeks ago and there's been some serious hand-holding at school. What I'm surprised about is that it's him who has the girlfriend as opposed to my stepson. My stepson is six months older and about a foot taller (my son is 4'10" and looks more like he's 10 or 11 than almost 13).

Although at work I've seen girls 17 or 18 having their 3rd and 4th babies. He'll be well informed of his responsibility to prevent those kind of fiascos before they happen.

When I was in high school (several decades ago), there was a guy in 9th grade who fathered 4 kids by 3 different girls. When one of them had his second kid, she made him marry her.
