1. Sorry, Dear KitchenWitch...mine's been shot for six months and
I've been going to the laundromat again *sigh*
If we get a "rebate" check I think we're going to look for a used one. That and some house paint and gutters and downspouts.

And I am going to get a solar clothes dryer (retractable) and a bio-orb for composting. :-)

3. I put in a call to our homeowner's warranty company
Hopefully the appliance guy can come out tomorrow to fix it.

2. My sympathies.
We had to buy a new one a few months ago. We ended up spending more than I wanted, but it's much more energy and water efficient. And my clothes come out cleaner, as well. With the economy the way it is, did you feel a tinge of panic when you realized it was broken? I did. :(

5. No panic here - we have a homeowner's warranty
So even if it cannot be repaired, it will be replaced for the service call fee of $55.00

7. What are the symptoms?
Once this happened to me, so first I panicked, then after I calmed down, I googled and found out that the problem was really easily fixable with a $1 part!

8. spin cycle does not work
I have a homeowners warranty so I have placed a service call.

The washer was making some clunking noises during the spin cycle over the last couple of weeks. I am guessing that a belt broke or something, and I do not have the physical ability to fix it myself.

I will only have to pay $55 for the service call.
