I have a Force 10 Migraine, and picking up steam.

I'm used to migraines. Because they are stress triggered, I have them all the time. Usual strength is less than Force 6 or 7; I use the Beaufort Scale for comparison.

This is a beaut, and I can thank my immediate superior (a member of the ruling family) AND Bornagain Bob, who I have regaled you of before.

Bob ran through a product that was "Advanced Print" so it wasn't my problem. Until 7:05 am.

He talked the customer's engineering dept (for HIS convenience, not mine) to release a change on a component, without changing the assembly, or telling ME that the part he was working on was PART of an assembly. So I work like galley slave until 5 minutes ago on HIS "911" until I get told, "OH, that's not the finished assembly."

My entire morning wasted, and I've now got a headache.

1. Now Force 12.

My eyes are watering, and my typing has gone dyslexic.

Kill me.

My eyes are watering like I've been maced. MASSIVE tinnitus; I can barely hear anything else.

Thank you for the kind thoughts. Ouch.

4. How can you even function
On the rare occasions I've gotten full blown migraines I can't do anything but curl up in a ball (I can't even just lay there--even a pillow hurts..

5. Immunity and previous exposure.
I once had one that vacillated between 8 and 12 for about 6 weeks. Non-stop.

After a while, you get used to it. You don't ENJOY it, but you can function, sort of.

My typing and spelling goes to hell, though.

6. I resent being treated with indifference too.
Cleaning up after people who should be doing it themselves is irksome, sorry about your migraine. Can you stomach some coffee and pain med?

Let me add, for anyone who can’t take anything by mouth when they have a migraine, get some suppositories, there are many pain meds in suppository form and you can buy Tylenol suppositories OTC.

7. Never effects me below the shoulders, thank the gods.
750 mg Acetaminophen
750 mg Asprin
130 mg Caffeine plus 3/4 pot of coffee.

Doesn't do too much for the headache, but seems to do something to keep the system running.

8. Since theory goes that expanded blood vessels may be the culprit.
Could you use a cold cloth to your head/temples? Good luck at your meeting.

9. "Vascular Cluster Migraines..."
They once shot something directly into the skull through the Foramen Magnum. First round worked great. 2nd round not so good and left me dizzy for 2 weeks.

And nothing else works but pain killers; BIG pain killers.

helps...of course it does make one a bit drowsy.
I did find that while taking Topamax, it helped to ward them off. It was, at the time, an off-label usage of the drug. Now they are prescribing it, in very small doses, for migraine prevention.

NOTE: must use spellcheck..must use spellcheck...must use spellcheck.

11. All the new meds either do nothing or make me dizzy.
Then I have a migraine AND I'm dizzy.

Percodan is best. Tramadol so-so because it makes me too sleepy. Vicodin is good but binds me up faster than a dominatrix on speed.
